This year VEHA will program and handle all Squirt age level hockey in the Vail Valley.  WECMRD and Vail Recreational District will no longer handle squirt age level hockey.

VEHA  Travel Hockey:

VEHA will field teams at the "B" and "C" level in the CDYHL.  Players will have two practices a week and will compete in 12 - 16 league games.  League games are in Aspen, Glenwood, Steamboat Springs, Breckenridge, and various communities along the Front Range.  League Games are generally on Saturday and Sunday.  Players wil play in the Vail Sportsmanship Tournament and Parents are expected to volunteer their time to produce the tournament.  Players and parents are also expected to participate in the Pond Hockey Championships - Martin Luther King Weekend in Avon.  Additionally teams will participate in one or 2 additional tournaments. Parents and coaches make the decision as to what additional tournaments to participate in.  VEHA will fund entry fees for one away tournament.

Recreational Squirt Hockey - VEHA will provide coaching and instruction for this group.  There is one required practice a week and one optional practice. ( ie one practice in each rink).  Games will be held on weekends with in house 6 man teams competing against each other in a 3 on 3 format.  Players in this group may have the opportunity to participate in the Jake Brock Tournament and are expected to participate in the Pond Hockey Championship Tournament  in January.  This team may also have the opportunity to participate in full ice Non-League games in surrounding communities.
